Incorporating Artwork into the Home
Where do you start introducing artwork into your space? Do you need to find a large blank wall, or can you be creative with introducing artwork in the less obvious parts of the home?
I thought I'd list some suggestions I often put forward to clients who are wishing to introduce some original art into a space - but arn't sure where to start.

Elevate your shelf game
One of my favourite uses of small paintings is to use them along side some decor in shelves. Mix them in with a statement vase, decorative accessory and candle and you are good to go! It is a good idea to also layer pieces up which will add more intrigue and colour to the set up.
If you don't have shelves try to think about where a painting can be propped up. A similar use would be on a mantle piece or on a picture rail - so its not hung, just leaning against the wall.

Art for tricky spaces
This is one for the interiors that have nooks and crannies. This is your reminder that a painting doesn’t have to be large to make an impact to a space. Sometimes just a small painting in the right place can add a level of intrigue. Below are a few examples.
Framing Feature Furniture
If you have a focal point and a main item of furniture - for example a bed, sofa or dining table - you can add more of a focal aspect to them by introducing corresponding art. One big canvas, or two frames above the furniture can really finish off a room and create a statement focal point.
Gallery Walls / Collected Items
Lots of smaller pieces can create a unique gallery wall which can scream personality. I love the fact gallery walls can constantly change - always resulting in an eclectic mix. These can be fun to create and can also be budget friendly as you can mix and match vintage with higher end pieces.
Things to remember:
Bigger canvases are not always better - try mixing sizes!
Match textures and colours in the paintings with interior furnishings to compliment the space.
Good framing can make a difference - think about what will compliment your space best.
Think longevity - is the painting colour palette and style flexible if you decide to redecorate?
I think introducing artwork (especially originals) can be such a fun way of introducing personality in your home. I hope this gives you some inspiration to start decorating!
